Standing room only for Bobcats first game of the season
The clock is ticking. Bobcat football kicks off in less than 24 hours. Tomorrow marks the first game of the season, and ticket sales are already reaching new records.
We visited the ticket office Wednesday afternoon to see how things were going the day before the big game. Michelle Bell is the Director of Ticket Operations.
"A lot of last minute request for tickets," said Bell.
She gave us an inside look at how things are going behind the scenes. Bell tells us it was a record year for student ticket sales. They sold out the fastest in recent history.
"Those were all gone, the original allotment, within 20 hours," said Bell.
We asked how they expect ticket sales to go Thursday on game day.
"Were expecting that phones will go off the hook, that we will have a lot of calls waiting. We will probably even have a few people at the window ready to get their tickets," said Bell.
Wednesday afternoon we were told there were only a couple hundred tickets left that are standing room only.
We also spoke to Megan Evans. She is a student at MSU who has worked in the ticket office for two years.
"Monday when I worked, it was so busy. I picked up phones, had people in lines backed all the way up," said Evans.
When we were at the office, she was only a few hours into her work day. But she says she already saw more than 20 people asking for last minute tickets.
Tickets are going fast, so if you want to join in on the bobcat experience, the clock is ticking.
NBC Montana will have full coverage of the game. The Bobcats kick off against Monmouth Thursday at 7:05p.m.
