Stillwater River drowning victim identified
Authorities have identified one of the two drowning victims who died in separate incidents Friday in the Stillwater River in south-central Montana.
Stillwater County Sheriff Clifford Brophy on Sunday identified 41-year-old Stephen Harrison of Billings as the man who fell out of a raft and drowned. Harrison was pulled from the water but resuscitation efforts by emergency responders failed.
A 1-year-old girl also drowned Friday after being swept away from her parents and brother. Two teenagers found the girl, but resuscitation efforts by emergency responders were unsuccessful.
Brophy declined to release the girl's name.
Authorities determined both deaths to be accidental.
