'Summer' mosaic revealed as part of Windows On Whitefish
WHITEFISH, Mont. -

Dozens of Whitefish residents gathered on the corner of Central Ave and Second Street to witness the unveiling of the second Windows On Whitefish mosaic. The four-part community art project depicts the seasons as seen through the windows of Whitefish residents.

The "Summer" window shows an array of summer activities like boating, hiking, fishing as well as the familiar colors of bright, purple huckleberries and the yellow sun shining down over the mountains. About 25-30 volunteers dedicated several months to the project.

"This has been a long time coming," said WOW art director Deb Stika. "It marks that we're half way through the project!"

"I wanted to be a part of the community and just help out," said volunteer Kim Vasquez. "I'm an artist and it's just a way that I can be a part of the community."

Classes for the "Fall" mosaic begin in June. For more on WOW, visit the project's website.
