Suspect in Butte robbery waives extradition in OR
A man wanted for the armed robbery of a Montana coin shop has waived extradition from Oregon, where he was arrested after a standoff.
The Montana Standard reports 30-year-old Dale Edward Wallace of Butte waived extradition Wednesday.
Undersheriff George Skuletich says he expects it to take about a week to return Wallace to Butte to face charges for the Dec. 30 robbery of Coins N Cards. Prosecutors allege Wallace and Sarah Jo Johnson tied up the shop owner and stole cash and guns. They eluded authorities until Jan. 3 when the FBI learned they may be in Lincoln City, Ore., driving a stolen car.
Wallace is suspected of pointing a gun at police while trying to flee on foot. A state trooper struck Wallace with his vehicle.
Johnson shot and killed herself.
