MISSOULA, Mont. -

Missoula police confirmed a suspicious package was found and forced them to block off Myrtle Street between Fourth and Fifth on Thursday morning.

Nobody was hurt during a bomb scare near Missoula's popular Hip Strip Thursday morning, but people had to evacuate the Le Petit Outre Bakery and the Kettlehouse Brewery.

A Missoula man waved down a police officer when he saw a strange military type box with markings on it. police closed down Myrtle Street between 4th and 5th and evacuated the area.

The bomb squad x-rayed the box to find out it contained jumper cables and items someone would keep in their car trunk. The bomb technicians blew the box apart with a water jet cannon, then let people back into the area. Officers don't know who left the box there.
