Thousands turn out for 7th annual Huffing for Stuffing run
Thousands of people participated in the 7th annual Huffing for Stuffing Thanksgiving Day run. Organizers expect about 4,000 people in the 2013 fun run.
The 5K and 10K fun run is a fundraiser for the Gallatin Valley Food Bank. Since it's inception the run has raised around $190,000 for the food bank.
In 2012 the run brought in $45,500 organizer are hoping to top that number this year.
Galllatin Valley Food Bank Director Tim Trzinski thanked everyone who made the run possible.
"We serve almost 10,000 to 12,000 people each and every year. That amount of activity just isn't possible without community help," Trzinski says.
According to Huffing for Stuffing's website the event takes more than 200 volunteers to run. World renowned mountaineer Conrad Anker served as the honorary Grand Marshal of the run. The Big Sky Wind Drinkers running club organizes the event.
