Transient charged with prostituting 17-year-old
A 44-year-old man who fled after Missoula police began investigating whether he was pimping out a 17-year-old girl has been returned to Montana to face charges.
Walter Leon Hill was charged in Justice Court Wednesday with prostitution and sexual abuse of children. His bail was set at $100,000.
Missoula police began investigating a prostitution advertisement for a 17-year-old girl on an online classifieds site in March.
Charging documents say Detective Chris Shermer arranged to meet the girl at a motel room. At the motel, he told the girl he was a police officer. The girl took officers to Hill's apartment.
The next day officers interviewed Hill's roommate who told them Hill had asked for a ride out of town. Hill was extradited from New York.
