BOZEMAN, Mont. -

Tuesday afternoon the trial began for Charles Dustin Rickett, who is accused of duct-taping and blindfolding a Manhattan woman.

Prosecutors say the 24-year old walked away from the prerelease center in July 2012 . They say he then went to the woman's home, blindfolded and duct taped her. The woman told police Rickett then waved a gas can in front of her face and threatened to burn her.

According to court documents filed in July 2012, Rickett faces multiple felony charges including aggravated kidnapping and burglary.

Tuesday opening statements were given and witnesses began to take the stand. Rickett's trial is expected to last until Thursday.
