MISSOULA, Mont. -

Construction is underway in Missoula for a new trucking terminal.

National trucking company Decker Truck Lin, Inc. broke ground for a facility on Old Highway 10 near the Wye.

The company is already leasing a small building for maintenance and office space in Missoula but decided to expand its services for the northwest.

Company Chairman Don Decker says Missoula was the ideal location.

“It's a crossing over place for us for pulling freight out of California up to the Northwest and from the Northwest back to the Midwest,” said Decker. “We service a lot of the Midwest and east coast and it is just a good spot for us to relay freight.”

Decker says the addition of the new terminal will create 25 new jobs. Decker says that would bump it up to 200 drivers and 20 officers in Missoula.

The project should be complete by February.
