MISSOULA, Mont. -

A TSA officer was shot and killed at the Los Angeles airport Friday morning.  Others are wounded, the suspect is in custody.

The TSA agent has been identified as 39-year-old Gerardo Hernandez.

The suspect, Paul Ciancia, is a 23-year-old New Jersey man who wanted to kill TSA agents. For more details on the shooting click here.

The TSA Union held a news conference Friday and said Hernandez was a Transportation Security Officer.

The Union initially stated Hernandez was a Behavior Detention Officer who recently relocated from Montana, but on Saturday NBC Montana confirmed with TSA Union Los Angeles Local 1260 President Victor Martinez that Hernandez was not from Montana.

He said there was initial confusion over the victim's identity.
