UM employee in fair condition after fall

MISSOULA, Mont. -

A University of Montana employee who fell through a glass skylight continues to recover.

61-year-old Mike Burke remained hospitalized Wednesday, after he fell through a skylight and landed on a boiler while working on the roof of the Heating Plant Tuesday, morning. His condition was upgraded from serious to fair.

UM’s Vice President for Integrated Communications Peggy Kuhr said the campus Environment Health and Risk Management department is investigating. In addition the campus has asked the Montana Department of Labor to assist in the investigation. Kuhr expects investigators will arrive Thursday.
