UM's Environmental Health Sciences program wins $5 million grant 07-12
MISSOULA, Mont. -

A $5 million grant is headed to the University of Montana thanks to the National Institute of Health.

It's called a Phase III award. The money will go to UM’s College of Health Professions and Biomedical Sciences.

CEHS employs about 50 people who study environmental impacts on human health.

Director Andrij Holian says the money's a huge win for the program, and he says Missoulians will ultimately feel the effects too.

"For the average Missoulian, we're working to understand mechanisms of diseases, so that we can develop cures for these diseases," said Holian.
