MISSOULA, Mont. -

Several World War II veterans arrived back in Western Montana today after taking part in the last Honor Flight to take WWII veterans to Washington, D.C.  This was the 9th Big Sky Honor Flight.

Three American Legion veterans from Missoula took part.  They are Marty Behner, Jerry Schliebe and Bob Rheinschmidt.

Well wishers held signs to welcome them.

The veterans saw many attractions, but especially the World War II Memorial.

"It was a whirlwind.  We got to see all the monuments, the Marines at Iwo Jima," said Behner.

Rheinschmidt added, "It is something I will remember for the rest of my days, whatever is left.  It was absolutely great."

Organizers say the program now likely will move on to take Korean and Vietnam veterans to Washington, D.C.
