Commuity leaders presence lives on
WHITEFISH, Mont. -

Whitefish community has lost a great leader and friend. Bob DePratu passed away Friday morning at age 74.

He may be gone physically but he will never be forgotten.

DePratu wore many hats from family man, friend, DePratu Ford car dealership owner, volunteer firefighter and Senator for Whitefish, to name a few. Aside from being an active member in the community, friends and colleagues have described him as a wonderful person.

One friend told NBC Montana what she's going to miss the most about DePratu.

"He was very loving, the most loving person. Even in the hospital, the nurses would ask him something and he would say, 'Whatever's easiest for you.' So, even until the end he was still thinking of others," said Linda Maynard.

Visitation for DePratu will be on Wednesday at Austin Funeral Home in Whitefish from 4 to 8 p.m. and the funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Whitefish Emergency Services Center.
