Newton Arraignment
Kalispell, Mont. -

AnnMari Newton, who is accused of stabbing her husband last month at their home in Whitefish, pleaded not guilty to assault with a weapon in Flathead District Court on Thursday.

Newton is currently being held on $75,000 bond, but is working to reduce that amount.

Her husband, Chad Newton, remains in serious condition in the critical care unit at Kalispell Regional Medical Center nearly a month after the November 25 stabbing.

A jury trial for the case is currently scheduled to start on April 28.
