Michelle Gentry in Court
Kalispell, Mont. -

A Columbia Falls woman appeared in court Thursday where she was arraigned on a charge of assault on a peace officer, a felony, stemming from a standoff with the Flathead county SWAT team outside her home on October 10, 2013.

According to court documents... Michelle Gentry was shot twice after she walked out of her home with a hand gun and pointed it at an officer.

An investigation led the Flathead county attorney's office to charge gentry with assault on a peace officer.

Today she appeared in court and entered a not guilty plea.

If convicted she could face up to 10 years in prison and up to $50,000 in fines.

Absent some other earlier resolution, the case should go to trial in late April.
