Yellowstone extends deadline for winter tour bids
Yellowstone National Park has extended the application deadline for one or more of 23 snowmobile and snow coach tour guiding contracts, which will be valid through the winter of 2023-24.
The Jackson Hole News & Guide reports the original Jan. 27 deadline has been pushed to Feb. 10, and the contracts will be awarded based on five criteria.
Yellowstone will look for companies with proposals that protect, conserve and preserve resources. The second selection factor seeks businesses that can ensure a good overall visitor experience and provide reasonable rates. The third looks at applicants' experience with snowmobile and snow coach tours, and the fourth assesses a company's financial ability to carry out the proposal. The fifth takes into account proposed franchise fees, which raise money for the park.
