Bozeman Hawks senior Amy Davis says there were many reasons for her choosing to play college basketball for Idaho State next season.
"It was a school that was still close and it was still kind of away from home. And I like the coaches a lot and the position they have me playing. So it just fit the best," the 6'1" Davis said.
Amy talked about what it will be like next season when she returns to Bozeman to take on the MSU Bobcats in Big Sky Conference play, where she'll be considered a visitor.
"It's going to be weird, especially I have teammates that went there so it's going to be weird playing against them, but it'll be fun," Davis said with a smile.
Davis said the biggest reason she decided on the Bengals was the opportunity to play early and often.
"They said that I could play right away with them because they're losing a lot of seniors this year and that's one of the main reasons I'm going there. And they said that they like my athleticism and that I have the same playing style that they play in," she said.
Bozeman Hawks Coach Brad Rustin said Davis will play all over the floor this season, from the post to behind the three point line, but Amy says she still has things she wants to improve on.
"I think right now I need to work on my ball handling, my shot a lot, so those are my two main focuses right now."
