The Lady Griz basketball team suffered its third conference loss of the season after falling to North Dakota 57-54 Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Griz jumped out to a 13 point lead midway through the first half, but the Bears hung around and were able to tie up the game 27-27 at the break.
In the second half of the contest Northern Colorado built up a nine point lead with just under 5 minutes left in the game. The Lady Griz closed the gap and had an opportunity to tie up the game with a couple of three-point shots, but Montana was unable to find the bottom of the net on the attempts and Northern Colorado held on to get the win 57-54.
Jordan Sullivan led Montana with 17 points, Kellie Cole added 11 points, and five assists, Carly Selvig had 8 rebounds, 5 blocks, 4 assists and 2 steals, all season highs.
With the loss Montana falls to 3-3 in Big Sky Conference play. The Lady Griz will open a four-game home stand next week starting with Idaho State.
