Coyle signs with Seahawks
Former Griz linebacker Jordan Tripp was the only Montana player to hear his name called during the draft. But it wasn't long after the draft ended that Tripp's former Griz teammate and Bozeman native Brock Coyle received some very exciting news.
On Saturday the NFL draft went into its 3rd and final day and Bozeman native Brock Coyle hoped his name would be called in one of the final 3 rounds. Coyle went undrafted but just as the final pick was made, Coyle got a phone call from the Seattle Seahawks.
"I've always felt like that could be a real home for me," said Coyle. "I couldn't be happier to be a Seattle Seahawk right now and I just can't wait to go in there and work and prove to them I'm ready to work and help the team win."
Coyle led the Griz in tackles and tackles for a loss this past season, but wasn't receiving much hype leading up to the draft. That is until he put on a show at the Griz pro day, which put him onto many NFL teams radars, including the Seahawks.
"Training down in Florida and the pro day, it was huge and honestly the interview process at Seattle, it was just great," said Coyle. "I'm blessed to be in this position now and very excited for this next chapter. As a kid it was my dream to be in the NFL and now that I'm a part of it, it's just a dream come true. I just thank God and it's just amazing. Just exited to work and compete and earn a spot on that roster."
