Diamondbacks extend contract with Osprey through 2020 season
The snakes and the birds will continue to be friends for the foreseeable future as the Arizona Diamondbacks and Missoula Osprey officially agreed upon a 4-year extension of their current Player Development Contract.
The current deal was set to expire after the 2016 season, but is now signed all the way through the 2020 season. The current affiliation relationship between the Osprey and Diamondbacks started in 1996 and is the second longest in the Pioneer League. The only one longer is between the Cincinnati Reds and Billings Mustangs.
Currently there have been a total of 45 Osprey players who have gone on to play Major League Baseball. The Osprey have won the Pioneer League Championship three times and have made the playoffs six times.
