Montana State and the University of Montana made head to head match-ups even more competitive this season by introducing a new 'Brawl of the Wild' competition.
Most fans knew the Brawl of the Wild as the football game between the Bobcats and the Griz, but the two schools decided to encompass all athletics into the Brawl.
Every head to head game is worth a point, with the point going to whichever school comes out victorious. The school with the most points at the end of the season receives the new Brawl of the Wild trophy.
Today the competition officially kicked off as the lady Bobcats headed to Missoula for a volleyball match with the Griz.
MSU won the first set but fell in the next three, so the Griz have won the first Brawl point this year. Montana senior Kayla Reno led all scorers with 19 kills. MSU freshman Kennadie Clute was the highest kill getter for the Bobcats notching 18.
The next point up for grabs will be November 23rd, when the Griz come to Bobcat Stadium for the final regular season football game of the year.
