MISSOULA, Mont. -

The Grizzlies improved to 3-0 on the year with a comfortable 47-14 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State inside Washington Grizzly Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

UM opened up the game by scoring on the first possession, taking just two plays to get on the scoreboard.  Chase Naccarato carried the ball 54 yards on their first play from scrimmage, and Jordan Johnson found Ellis Henderson for the 17 yard touchdown to put the Griz on top just 41 seconds into the game.

Montana jumped out to an early 31-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and they never looked back.  The Griz starters were able to rest for most of the contest.

Quarterback Jordan Johnson saw limited playing time completing 3 of 6 passes for 59 to go along with that 17 yard touchdown pass to Henderson.

Montana did however do the one thing that has been working for them all season long; and that's run the ball. The Griz carried the ball 45 times for 262 yards and two touchdowns. Leading the way for the backs was Grizzly freshman John Nguyen who racked up a total of 144 yards on 22 carries.

The Griz were also able to work on their special teams and specifically their kicking game. Three different kickers saw action during the game for Montana and they made 4 of 5 field goals and 5 of 5 extra points. Freshman Ben Worst led the way making all three of his field goal attempts including a 50 yarder in the first quarter, the 6th longest in UM football history.
