MISSOULA, Mont. -

Last year the Hamilton football team had a disappointing season winning just two games. But this year is a different story as the Broncs are 6-3 and headed to the playoffs.

"Last year it was really tough, a really tough season, said Hamilton quarterback Josh Bauder. "Now we just know how special it is to actually make the playoffs and get to keep playing."

Besides making it to the postseason, these Broncs are hosting a playoff game in Hamilton for the first time since 1999.

"We had some goals throughout the year and this was one of them was to host a playoff game, said Bronc head coach Travis Blome. "Our kids know what's at stake and we know we have a tough opponent coming in so we're pretty excited."

"Everyone's pretty excited in the locker room even the underclassmen are jacked for this experience, said Hamilton receiver Teague Blome. "14 years since Hamilton has hosted a home a playoff game, it's a pretty big deal and everyone's pretty excited about it."

"I know all our parents and everybody is really excited about the game on Saturday, said Bauder. "We haven't done this in 14 years so it's going to be really fun."

The Broncs say this group is like family. But for a few members of this team, family is not an exaggeration. Travis Blome is the head coach, his father Jim is an assistant coach, and finally Travis' brother Teague is a starting wide receiver.

"We definitely keep football talk on the football field, said Teague. "We try to not let it get into the house at all because he comes over eats dinner at the house but we try to keep the football talk to a minimum at the house."

"We try to keep it on the field, said Travis. "I'll see him on the weekends or something and we will talk about football quite a bit I think it's probably hardest on my mom who has to deal with all three of us at dinner sometimes."

Hamilton knows they have a tough 1st round task hosting Polson this Saturday.

"They are a well coached team, very physical up front, their quarterback is very talented their running back is a hard runner, said Travis.

"They're obviously a good team making it to the playoffs, said Bronc receiver Kris Cleveland. "I think we're ready and I think it will be a really good game we just have to compete."

"I expect them to run the ball a bunch and try to beat us in the run game and then every once in a while try to hit us with the play action pass, said Teague. "I think if we just tackle and play hard I think we come out victorious."

Saturday's game kicks off at 1 p.m.
