Grizzlies vs. Weber State
MISSOULA, Mont. -

Montana looked like the cream of the conference Thursday night as they took down the top team in the Big Sky standings Weber State 68-57 inside UM’s Dahlberg Arena.

It was another tight contest between the two programs that have emerged as the Big Sky’s standout squads over the past several seasons.

The contest saw nine ties and five lead changes.  Montana trailed 12-4 out of the gates but clawed back to take a 33-32 lead into halftime.  The second half continued to be a see-saw affair but Montana took the lead for good 45-44 with just under 12 minutes left in the game via a 3-pointer by Kareem Jamar.

The victory improved Montana to 8-7 in conference play and moves them into a five way tie for 3rd place in the conference.  Weber State dropped their second game in a row, after losing at Idaho State earlier in the week, but at 11-4 they still have the top record in the Big Sky.

Jamar finished with a game-high of 25 points going 11-of-19 from the floor.  The senior scored 14 of his 25 in the second half.

Kyle Tresnak led the Wildcats with 23 points but was limited to 25 total minutes due to foul trouble.  Tresnak fouled out of the game with 1:09 remaining.

It was the 154th career victory for Montana head coach Wayne Tinkle, tying tying him with Mike Montgomery for the second most wins in school history.

The Griz will continue their 4-game home stand this Saturday when they play host to Idaho State (10-14, 7-8 BSC).
