The Lady Bobcat's volleyball team struggled this season but one of the youngest members of the team had one of the best season by any freshman in the nation and was recognized for it Thursday.

MSU freshman Kennadie Clute was named a co-outstanding freshman by the Big Sky Conference today. She shared the award with North Dakota's Anna Pisoke.

Clute was dangerous when the ball was set to her, recording a punishing 513 kills this season. That was the highest amount of kills by any freshman in all of Division 1 volleyball. Clute is the first Bobcat to reach 500+ kills since Diane Terrall did it 33 years ago.

Clute led the Big Sky in kills and points this season.
